Who can register online?

You must be a YMCA facility or program member at the Downtown Berkeley YMCA or the Albany YMCA to register for YMCA programs.  You can sign up for membership at the Welcome Desk at either YMCA location. 

Two ways to access Online Program Registration:

  1. From the Home page of the www.baymca.org, click on the Online Registration link in the top right navigation.
  2. From the Albany YMCA or Downtown Berkeley YMCA Home pages, click on the Online Registration button.

 

Choose A Program Category

Once you have entered the Program Registration area you will see a list of available programs during a specific time period (month and year) just fill in the blanks.  You may enter the same month in both blanks, you may enter a range of months, or you may leave them blank and see ALL available programs.
 

You may narrow the list down further by selecting on the program category buttons listed below or enter to see all:
 

  • Adult Fitness
  • Aquatics – Adults
  • Aquatics – Preschool
  • Aquatics – Youth
  • Camp Programs
  • Early Childhood Programs
  • Kids’ Club
  • Mind Body
  • Sports – Youth
  • Youth Enrichment

You have the option of choosing “Search for Program”.  This option will allow you to search by AGE or look for a specific word in the title of the program…you may fill in all criteria or just fill in one blank, such as just AGE to find all programs available and suitable for that age.

Browse Program List

Once you have selected all of your criteria whether you used the “Category”  Selections or  “Search for Program”, you will see a list of programs with the following info:

 

  • A brief description of the program (note: click on items in red to display more program information)
  • The acceptable age range
  • The fee for a Facility Member and the higher fee for Program Basic Members
  • The dates that the program begins and ends
  • The day(s) the class is held
  • How many slots still remain open
  • If there are no slots available the number of people on the waiting list
  • Last (but not least) the orange block with “register” is the button you click to register for that class.

 

*To see programs at another branch you have to complete your registration, log off of the current branch, go to the Start Your Search screen, and select the other branch you want to see programs for.

Sign In To Register

Once you click on the orange button register  your login screen will appear. To login for the first time, you should have your membership card in front of you.  Only members over the age of 18 will be allowed to login…

To login for the first time, type your last name, first name and password.

Note:  Your password is automatically set to your first initial of your first name + first initial of your last name + birthdate (mmddyy). For example John Doe born 02/01/1968 = JD020168

Once you have entered your ‘first time login password’ click on Login.


A screen will appear with your personal information.
(It is at this point that you can update your record.)

Please fill out the wavier section if you have not done so and then click on continue.

A screen will come up showing you what your information was updated to and you may click on continue from here.

You can now register for the program you selected above…

Submit Payment Information

Once you have selected the program you want to register for you must enter your credit card information.

You must first enter your credit card information, exactly as it appears on your credit card and click continue.   If you are registering for a Youth or Program Member under 18, it should default to the name of the parent.   If it does not, you must enter in the parent’s name that is on the credit card.
 

You will now see the cost of the program and your credit card info…if you choose:

  • “Add to Cart” -- it will total the programs and allow you to “continue” adding on more programs
  • REGISTER -- to complete the registration process
  • Rosters -- to see what your registration history is so far
  • Delete -- to remove the program you just registered for
  • Back or Log Out -- to stop registration completely.

Refund Policy:  If you decide to cancel prior to the start date of the class, you will receive a full refund.  Once the class has started, you will receive a partial credit on your account.

Submit Registration

Once you are sure that you want to register for all the programs selected:

Click on REGISTER, you will complete the registration process and receive a confirmation on your screen for printing and you can choose to have it emailed to you for future reference.  Your credit card will be charged the Total that appears on the confirmation receipt.

Additional Notes

 

  • Your registration will immediately update to our database at the Front Desk computers and be logged for the day…if you need to make any changes after you have confirmed your registration you will have to contact the Front Desk at your local branch to make the changes for you.
  • If you have a balance due on your roster or your membership will expire prior to the start or during a program session, you will need to renew your membership in person or via phone.  Please phone the Front Desk at your branch and a Member Services Staff will be able to assist you.

 

If you have any specific questions about a particular program or class, call the Welcome Desk at your branch (Downtown Berkeley: 848-9622 or Albany: 525-1130), and any Member Services Staff will be able to answer your questions.
