Facility

Facility & Grounds

The South Berkeley YMCA has not only gone through an evolution in its programs, but also its façade. What was just a few years ago a run down building with inadequate lighting and equipment, is now a renovated, lovely learning center.

Complete with:

  • study rooms
  • computers
  • outdoor activity space

This building now provides a safe and nurturing environment for its students and families.
Our small library has about 800 books, some new and some gently used. These books have been donated to us by the Berkeley Rotary, the Jewish Coalition for Literacy, Summit Intermediate School, and the Berkeley Friends of the Library.

Outdoor Area

Our outdoor space is a well maintained area which creates a safe environment for fun and learning.

The Herb Garden

The herb garden that is in the front of the building is fragrant area where we sit (weather permitting) and practice our reading skills. It serves as a wonderfully relaxing, alternative space to work and read.
